2017 NGGDPP Grant Opportunity Announced - proposals due January 31, 2017

The National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP) is pleased to announce the 2017 grant opportunity, available to state geological surveys, for the preservation of geoscientific materials and data. The 2017 Program Announcement for the grant opportunity is posted at www.grants.gov, announcement number: G17AS00020. The direct link is at: http://www.grants.gov/view-opportunity.html?oppId=290853. Proposals are due by January 31, 2017.

Please read the "Program Announcement Changes" (page ii). Several modifications have been made to the proposal process and requirements. In addition to proposing preservation projects, states may apply for matching federal funds to sponsor travel for two representatives to the Data Rescue and Preservation Workshop, planned for September 2017.

Two webinars will be held to discuss the Program Announcement and provide guidance about the proposal submission process and requirements. We encourage state representatives to seek clarification and ask questions during these webinars. These sessions will present the same content so representatives may attend either session.
