The kick off meeting conducted on June 13, 2018, featured a presentation by representatives of the USGS Core Research Center, the largest federal rock core repository, established in 1974 and located in Denver, Colorado. Interest in this working group was expressed by state geological survey representatives at the Data Preservation Workshop (September 2017). The Rock Core Working Group will meet bi-monthly initially, and when appropriate, can relegate to meet less often to address special topics. Please consider joining the group. Next meeting is scheduled August 15, 2018, at 10 am MT.
